13,000 cyclists took part and raised $3.3 million in the 2010-06-06 23rd Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Ride-for-Heart event, which annually shuts down Toronto's 2 traffic arteries on a Sunday morning and offers cyclists a chance to ride across the Gardiner Expressway, up the Don Valley Parkway and back down into the city, with the majestic CN tower and Toronto cityscape as backdrop.

The DEI team that I'm with has raised $3,652.00 this year. The Ride-for-Heart fund supports medical advancements, education and social programs at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, ultimately to prevent and reduce death and disability from heart disease and stroke.

  1. The day didn't start ideally for cycling, rain started at dawn and got heavier about the starting time @7:30am, everyone was soaked & freezing but carried on, sky cleared up a bit around the turning point, that's when these pictures were taken, I was already blown-dry 風乾 by then...

  2. I'd decided to give my single-speed folding bike a chance and it worked out beautifully, much better than my heavier mountain bike that I'd used before; specially on hills. Because of its light weight, even without extra gears I was able to climb up hills by building up momentum early and came down much faster; much like old time... ^o^
